Ten Yad is a Brooklyn-based organization dedicated to the mitzvah of Hachnosas Kallah, ensuring that every Jewish bride can enter marriage with dignity and joy. Founded in 1984 by a group of seminary classmates who rallied to support a friend in need, Ten Yad has since grown into a global initiative that assists kallahs from diverse backgrounds, including orphans and those facing financial hardship. Their mission is to alleviate the financial stress that can overshadow the simcha of a wedding, allowing each kallah to focus on building her bayis ne’eman b’Yisroel.

The organization offers a range of services to support new couples. This includes providing household essentials to help set up a new home, offering high-end wedding gowns and accessories to ensure the kallah feels beautiful on her special day, and operating Keren Shneur, a free loan gemach specifically designated to help families cover wedding expenses. These services are designed to address the various needs that arise during the wedding process, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the celebration.

Ten Yad also engages the broader community through initiatives like the Tenathon, an annual fundraising event that combines entertainment with the opportunity to support kallahs in need. This event not only raises essential funds but also fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose within the community. Ten Yad continues to be a pillar of support for Jewish brides, ensuring that the joy of building a new home is accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.
