Chaverim of Staten Island is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to assisting community members in non-emergency situations. Operating 24 hours a day, six days a week, Chaverim provides aid in scenarios such as flat tires, vehicle lockouts, dead batteries, gas refills, and home lockouts. Their mission is to offer timely help to those in need, ensuring that assistance is available whenever required.​

With a team comprising over 30 active volunteers and nine dispatchers, Chaverim handles more than 1,300 calls annually, averaging about 115 calls each month. These dedicated individuals often interrupt their personal routines to respond to calls, demonstrating a strong commitment to communal support. Their efforts are not limited by weather conditions or time of day, emphasizing their unwavering dedication to service.​

They assist individuals who are locked out of their homes and provide support in various other situations where immediate, non-medical help is needed.
