Bochur Support Services
New York, NY, USA
GavzBoyz is an organization dedicated to supporting yeshiva and beis medrash bochurim in their journey through illness and medical challenges. Founded in memory of Gavriel Moshe Raimi a”h, GavzBoyz steps in to offer a wide array of practical and emotional services tailored specifically for frum young men facing medical hardships. The organization recognizes the unique needs of bochurim, especially those whose lives are centered around Torah learning, and seeks to ease the burden through targeted support.
Their core services include logistical and physical assistance such as hospital transportation, help navigating medical appointments, and patient advocacy. They also provide in-hospital visits, Shabbos and Yom Tov accommodations, and care packages meant to boost morale and offer comfort. These services are executed with sensitivity to the lifestyle and hashkafos of yeshiva bochurim, ensuring their physical and ruchniyus needs are upheld even during times of distress.
GavzBoyz also prioritizes mental and emotional support, offering chizuk through peer companionship, mentorship, and events designed to bring simcha and a sense of connection to boys in treatment. They hold uplifting programming and create opportunities for boys to build relationships with others who understand their experiences, all within a Torah framework. Additionally, the organization collaborates with schools, rabbonim, and medical professionals to ensure a bochur’s needs are met holistically.
They serve bochurim both in and out of the hospital, with programs and outreach extending to their families as well. From crisis intervention to daily check-ins and ongoing involvement, GavzBoyz stands as a supportive pillar for frum boys navigating medical journeys.
