Women's Torah Leadership
Brooklyn, NY, USA
Core is a global initiative dedicated to empowering frum women who serve as the backbone of their communities. Through a multifaceted approach, Core provides training, support, and networking opportunities to women engaged in klal work, enabling them to enhance their impact within their communities. The organization focuses on three primary areas: the MMC (Mashpia-Mentor-Counselor) Program, Communities of Practice, and Core Circles.
The MMC Program is an intensive 2.5-year training designed for women who are already seen as role models and advisors within their communities. Participants engage in weekly interactive classes, small-group supervision, and develop community-based projects. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including parenting, marriage, mental health, and spiritual growth, all through a Torah lens. While MMCs are not licensed therapists, they are trained to provide spiritual guidance and support, referring individuals to professionals when necessary. Graduates become part of an international network of MMCs, fostering ongoing collaboration and growth.
Communities of Practice (CoPs) connect women who share specific roles in Orthodox communal life, such as kallah teachers, rebbetzins, educators, and mental health professionals. These groups offer targeted professional development, access to resource banks, and opportunities for collaboration through virtual and in-person gatherings. By facilitating these connections, Core ensures that women in similar roles can share experiences, seek advice, and support each other in their communal responsibilities.
Core Circles are small, intimate groups of 5–10 women who meet regularly to foster meaningful relationships with each other, with Hashem, and with the Torah. These micro-communities provide a space for personal growth, spiritual connection, and mutual support. By nurturing these relationships, Core Circles strengthen the fabric of the broader community, promoting unity and resilience among its members.
