Chavivim
Emergency Chesed Services
New York, NY, USA
Chavivim is a volunteer-based emergency service organization established in 2018, dedicated to providing immediate roadside assistance and emergency support across the Greater New York and New Jersey regions, with services extending nationwide when possible. Operating 24/6, Chavivim's team of over 500 trained volunteers responds to thousands of calls annually, offering aid in situations such as flat tires, dead batteries, vehicle lockouts, and fuel shortages. Their commitment ensures that community members receive prompt and reliable assistance during vehicular emergencies.
Beyond standard roadside services, Chavivim has expanded its operations to include specialized Shabbos services, coordinated under rabbinical guidance. These services encompass non-emergency transfers, scheduled appointments, and essential deliveries, all conducted in accordance with halachic standards. This initiative reflects Chavivim's dedication to addressing the unique needs of the community while upholding religious observance.
Chavivim's reach and impact have grown significantly since its inception. The organization has established a presence in multiple locations, including Rockland County, where they celebrated the opening of a new headquarters with a kvias mezuzah ceremony. Additionally, Chavivim volunteers have participated in broader emergency response efforts, such as assisting communities affected by natural disasters, demonstrating their commitment to chesed on a larger scale.
