WellTab provides hospitalized patients with bedside tablets that enable real-time video communication with their loved ones. The initiative was created in response to hospital lockdown policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, which left many patients isolated without access to in-person family support. The tablets are designed to be simple, requiring no setup by hospital staff or family members, and automatically connect patients with designated relatives, providing an essential emotional and psychological lifeline.

Key services include the free distribution of pre-configured tablets to patients—both those already admitted and those in transport via Hatzolah ambulances. Each device features auto-connect software, muting options for medical exams, and external volume controls. The service also includes 24/7 tech support to assist with troubleshooting and ensure seamless connectivity between patients and families. The system is built with security in mind, incorporating anti-hack protections and backup MiFi capabilities to maintain reliable communication in hospital settings.

WellTab maintains a network of community volunteers who program the tablets, ensure WiFi connectivity in hospitals, and serve as compassionate helpline representatives for patients and families. These volunteers also provide emotional support and personal guidance throughout the patient’s hospital stay. Additionally, WellTab’s software has been specifically tailored for medical environments, with input from nurses and healthcare workers to minimize disruption and maximize ease of use at the bedside.

Discover. SUPPORT. CONNECT.
At Bridge to the Heart, we believe that tzedakah should be about connection, not attention. In a world where fundraising often leans on marketing tactics, grand campaigns, and external incentives, we aim to bring the focus back to the cause itself—the work being done and the lives being impacted. We provide a direct and transparent way to discover and support Orthodox Jewish organizations. No elaborate events, no expectations—just a place to find causes that align with your values and give because you believe in their mission. With Bridge to the Heart, you can search by name, category, or location to explore organizations that matter to you. Our goal is to reshape the culture of giving, making generosity a reflection of personal conviction rather than outside influence. Tzedakah is about heart, not hype. Let’s bring it back to what truly matters.
