Aliyah Girls Loft
Youth Empowerment
Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY, USA
Aliya Girls is a Brooklyn-based organization serving the Crown Heights community, dedicated to supporting Jewish girls and young women through various stages of life. Established in 2012, it offers a nurturing environment that fosters emotional, spiritual, and personal growth. The organization operates through three primary divisions, each tailored to specific age groups and needs, providing a range of programs and services designed to empower participants and strengthen their connection to the community.
The high school division offers daily after-school activities at the Girls Loft, a welcoming space where teens can engage in creative projects, enjoy communal dinners, and participate in workshops focused on self-esteem, healthy relationships, and life skills. The center also provides access to group and individual therapy, as well as assistance with school and home placements, ensuring that each girl receives personalized support. Monthly Shabbos meals and Yom Tov celebrations further enhance the sense of community and belonging among participants.
For young women in their 20s and 30s, the Girls Loft NYC division offers weekly Torah classes, social events, and Shabbat meals, creating opportunities for continued growth and connection beyond the high school years. This division also provides job placement assistance, recognizing the unique challenges faced by this age group and offering practical support to help them navigate their personal and professional lives.
In response to the evolving needs of the community, Aliya Girls recently launched the CH Teens division, catering to mainstream teenage girls. Operating from the Girls Lounge at 537 Empire Blvd., this nightly after-school recreational center and homework lounge offers a safe and supportive environment for teens to unwind, socialize, and receive academic assistance. By addressing the diverse needs of its participants, Aliya Girls continues to play a vital role in nurturing the well-being and development of Jewish girls and young women in Crown Heights.
