Nachas Health and Family Network provides a wide range of social and healthcare services for low-income individuals, families, and seniors in New York. The organization assists clients in enrolling in public benefit programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, Child Health Plus, Medicare, and Obamacare. Their multilingual Certified Application Counselors help clients navigate the application process and overcome language and cultural barriers to access essential services.
The organization coordinates ongoing community health initiatives, including free monthly screenings for mammograms and pap smears, as well as health awareness events such as Women's Day of Health and Children’s Health Fairs. These events combine education with accessibility and outreach, targeting preventive care and early detection for underserved populations.
Nachas operates a comprehensive program for Holocaust survivors, offering daily hot meals (including for Shabbos and Yom Tov), personalized touches such as flowers and poems, and rent assistance to prevent eviction. Survivors also benefit from in-home care, therapeutic music visits, regular phone check-ins, and access to social and therapeutic group programs such as art therapy, music therapy, Parsha shiurim, senior-focused exercise, and Rosh Chodesh gatherings. Survivors are invited to an annual retreat in the Catskills and special concerts designed specifically for them, featuring well-known singers in accessible venues.
