Chaim Medical Resource is a non-profit organization that supports individuals and families facing serious and complex medical crises. The organization focuses on helping patients navigate the medical system by guiding them through doctors, specialists, hospitals, and available treatment options, while clarifying that it does not provide medical care or clinical advice itself. It positions itself as a resource for support and guidance in health care challenges rather than as a health care provider or insurance entity.

Their core services include medical referrals, global research on treatment options, and a dedicated Complex Disorders Division for conditions that are difficult to diagnose or treat. Staff match patients’ specific needs with appropriate specialists and facilities, conduct extensive interviews to fully understand each case, and research advanced treatments and trial programs before advising on next steps. They also provide hospital liaison services, maintain relationships with senior hospital staff, and coordinate interfacility transfers when a change in hospital or level of care is needed, helping families manage complicated transitions in care.

Chaim Medical Resource also emphasizes patient advocacy and coordinated care. The organization works to cut through medical bureaucracy, secure access to highly regarded physicians, obtain second and third opinions, and organize in-person or virtual case conferences among multiple specialists when needed. A broad physician network allows them to facilitate communication, relay medical records, and keep different teams aligned on treatment planning. For patients who require organ transplants, they advocate with donor centers around the world and assist with the many logistical steps involved.

In addition to case navigation, the organization offers professional support groups and targeted programs for specific populations. These include support groups for patients and families dealing with cancer, chronic illness, and other serious conditions; the Crohn’s Colitis Coalition (CCC), which provides referrals, patient-to-patient support, educational conferences, an informational hotline, and a magazine; and Preemie Links, which connects families of premature or medically fragile infants with veteran parents who can guide and reassure them through the NICU and post-discharge journey. A wide range of medical divisions—such as oncology, genetics, complex pediatric illnesses, maternal–fetal medicine, gastroenterology, critical care, cardiology, neurology, and many others—reflects the breadth of conditions they address. Based in New York and New Jersey, the organization collaborates with medical centers and donor programs across the United States and internationally.
