The Ark
Financial Assistance, Food Support, Medical Services, Mental Health, Employment
Location Served: Chicago
The Ark provides a wide range of support services for Jewish individuals and families in the Chicagoland area, with the goal of helping them achieve stability and self-reliance. The organization operates out of two locations—one in West Rogers Park and another in Northbrook—serving the greater Chicago Jewish community with both in-person and remote services.
Key services include a medical clinic offering primary care, psychiatry, gynecology, and other specialties; a dental clinic providing cleanings, extractions, and more; and a pharmacy that dispenses prescribed medications at no cost. The Ark also offers case management to coordinate support across different areas of need, including mental health counseling, financial assistance, food distribution through its pantry and meal cards, housing assistance, and employment support. The organization provides a kosher food pantry with access to fresh produce, dry goods, and household essentials.
Additional services include legal guidance, job coaching, and financial literacy education. The Ark also maintains a clothing distribution center, offers burial assistance, and arranges interest-free loans for eligible individuals. Services are tailored to the needs of each client, with an integrated approach that includes both practical support and emotional care from social workers, clinicians, and other professionals.
